What's your top tip for other student
Work out your childcare so that you can attend some social
functions and be involved with your course. It helps you become
part of the year and less of an outsider.

Fresh new challenges and meeting lots of new people.
What have been the biggest challenges?
Integrating myself into the year and not being seen as an
outsider due to not living in Leeds, my age and also being married
with a child.
How do you cope with money?
I am careful with what I spend and I also use the full student
loan entitlement. I also do not buy anything I cannot afford.
What do you wish you had known before you
That there is more support, both financially and personally,
available to student parents if you look/ask for it.
How do you juggle your responsibilities?
I have to make sure I plan ahead and have made it clear to the
students that I work with that I cannot always work at short
notice. They have been very helpful in accepting and working within

A qualified dentist, maybe working part time.
What are your top money management tips?
Do not buy stuff you don't need, can't afford. There are always
ways around costs if you think laterally. Try not to have a job in
term times, if possible, as with family commitments and university
work you will burn yourself out very quickly.
